Sarah Stackpole, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a board certified otolaryngologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions of the ear, nose, sinus and throat.
Experienced in diagnosing and caring for complex conditions, Dr. Stackpole works with internists and specialists in such fields as pulmonary medicine, gastroenterology and rheumatology, neurology and pain management to design and coordinate treatment. She integrates complementary treatments, such as herbal medication and acupuncture, when appropriate.
Care of the voice: Dr. Stackpole’s specialty is care of the professional voice. A classically trained singer herself, she brings to her patients the complementary perspectives of the physician and the vocal performer. Integrating these perspectives, Dr. Stackpole treats the complex conditions that can affect current performance, and she addresses the long term health of the voice from the medical and career perspectives.
Teaching and research: Her medical practice is complemented by her research and her work as a clinician and as a teacher and professor of medicine. She serves on the faculty of both Weill Cornell Medical College and New York University School of Medicine, where she educates and trains medical students and residents.
Professional appointments: Dr. Stackpole serves as Co-Chief of Laryngology at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital (MEETH), a position she has held since 1999. As such she continues to integrate the services of MEETH with those of Lenox Hill Hospital, both of which are now affiliates of North Shore LIJ Hospital.
